Review of the Classics: Leatherheads on Fashion

To sum the story up, Lexi Littleton (  Renée Zellweger) portrayed a journalist in this role and is torn between two lovers, the rising college football star, Carter "the Bullet" Rutherford ( John Krasinski) and the veteran professional star Jimmy "Dodge" Connelly (George Clooney).  Connelly is the captain of a struggling professional American football team in the 1920s (circa 1925), the Duluth ( Minnesota) Bulldogs.

Her fashion was inspired by wool trench coats, long A-line skirts, clochet hats, wavy curls, dark red lipstick, slim scarves, leather gloves, lace dress, mother of pearls, hair pins, and classic pumps.

Confused between these two guys, if you were Lexi, who would you choose?  Personally, if you ask me, I would choose the younger Carter, who is calm, serious and sincere.  I never liked the personality of the older guy, Dodge, in this movie.  I think Lexi turned the Carter down because he is younger and he has gathered some bad press through his own unethical actions which is a conflict of interest in her job as a newspaper journalist.

This is a 2008 movie directed by George Clooney himself, portraying a vintage American sports in a comedy film.  Leatherheads is named after the leather football helmet and also has the connotation of a person being tough...

  5. George Clooney is so handsome! I love this post. It provides lots of inspiration. I love the coats and the gloves! Thank you for the comments! I really like Anthropologie! I shop their sale items only. I don't think I've ever purchased anything from the store at full price. I also like Modcloth for their vintage-inspired clothing, I just haven't purchased anything from the site yet.
